Acoustic musicians know that nothing conveys the full energy and
feeling of their work like live performance. Live recording can also be
a very efficient and cost-effective way to
acquire cuts for albums and demos.
Melville Park Studio will record your live performance direct to
digital multi-track, bypassing the "house" board so that the tracks
can be mixed in the studio. This is the way major label live albums are
made.
Live recordings by Melville Park Studio appear on albums by Vance
Gilbert, Lori McKenna,
Jess Klein, Kerri Powers, Scott
Alarik, Kevin So,
Danielle Miraglia, Oen Kennedy and many others.
You own the recording, and can take it anywhere you want for mixing
and editing. There's no
obligation to use Melville Park Studio.
The cost is $50/hour, and includes travel, setup, sound check,
packup, and the time we're actually recording. There is no charge for
intermissions, other artist's sets, or other "down" time. A rough mix
CD is included so that you can conveniently evaluate the performance.
